About us....

The group has been formed by a fellow sufferer who felt that there was a need in Chorley for a group.  This has now become even more important with the closure of the Preston group, leading to us expanding for Preston and Chorley at this time.  We welcome everyone in the Lancashire area, so even if you cannot make it to meetings you can be supported by email or facebook.

This group is working with Fibromyalgia Association UK (FMAUK) Registered Charity 1042582.

Preston and Chorley Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility and Chronic Pain Support is a group which is run to support people with ANY chronic pain condition, regardless of diagnosis.

This group is run by members, for the benefit of members.

All members will be treated with respect and will all be treated equally.

We aim to provide a relaxed and laid back atmosphere at all of our meetings.

Please note we are no longer at Global Renewables Environmental Education Centre Farington, Leyland due to council closure and no longer at Buckshaw Community Centre due to doublebooking our room and we have found a far better place!

**Please note changes***

2nd Monday every month day time meeting 12-2pm

and we meet the 4th Monday every month 12-2pm.

4th Monday monthly is at various places (so please suggest anywhere you would like us to try near to you).

Come along whether for the first time or to catch up again after a flare etc, we shall be happy to see you and enjoy a good chat and any updated information.

As we all have a chronic pain condition, we don't all make it to every meeting, but this doesn't matter as we can always speak on the phone  or respond to your email or chat on private members only facebook group if there is anything you want to discuss.

If you have any ideas to improve the group, then we are always open to new ideas as every opinion matters as much as the next.

If you would like to take a more active role in the group, we are always happy to have any help, but do not feel that it is required.

When you join up to attend meetings, we do ask for a subscription of £24 as your annual membership fee which works out at just £1 per meeting! Our Membership period runs from 30th June each year so please pay promptly in order to stay in our private members only facebook group and get support such as Benefits and Work guides

When you join, we do ask you to fill in a membership form, but all of your details will be kept confidential, and will be used only by this group and will not be given to any 3rd parties.

We do not charge for meetings as attendance is covered with the annual membership  but please bring cash or card to purchase your own food or drink in the venues we meet in.

Anything discussed during the meetings will be kept in complete confidence.

The information given at any meeting does not necessarily imply endorsement by FMAUK or the Members of the Management Committee of this group.

Any information or recommendation of a medical nature must always be discussed with a qualified professional.

FMAUK and the Members of the Management Committee of this group cannot be held responsible for omissions and/or errors in the information that is provided in printed or verbal form.
